Scarp Vertical Park in Warsaw
Collaboration: Krystian Kwieciński
During the workshops, called Twoja Smolna, a vision of transforming a part of Warsaw Escarpment (Karol Beyer Park) into a vertical playground which takes advantage of the natural slope of land was proposed. The goal of the workshops was to define the needs of local community and on that basis develop architecture and/or urbanistic solutions. The analyses showed lack of places for lingering in the common public space where diverse community could interact, like a vibrant recreational urban spot. A vertical park is separated by three levels of different activities that aim to satisfy every age group of local community. In the middle of the playground a long slide invites Warsaw citizens to have fun for a while in the business center of the city.
