Cloud Warsaw Stadium Station
The national stadium will take the role of the center of the city during Euro 2012, and the stadium train station will act as the gate, through which visitors will pass every day. If we assume that 55000 people will leave the stadium during one hour period, the number of people entering, coming through, and gathering below railway station will exceed its capacity over five times. The idea is to create a structure that could receive a number of visitors after matches, and take the role of an acustic protection after Euro 2012. Movable arms open and close changing the capacity of each canal of pedestrian flows. Pavilions with station services are inserted into the network of structures’ junctions in such a way that each of the interiors could be supplied and disconnected independently.
Therefore in the situation of overcrowded area some of facilities could be removed to allow pedestrian flow enter the station.
